Safeguarding

St Mary’s is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.  All staff (including supply staff, volunteers and governors) must ensure that they are aware of school procedures.

Our Safeguarding Policy is available from the school office and can be accessed here: Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy 2022-23

A summary of changes to Keeping children safe in education, the Department of Education’s statutory guidance for schools on safeguarding children, to come into force in September 2022 can be found here: KCSIE 2022 – Caspar Briefing

St Mary’s Primary School carefully considers all aspects of safeguarding and has the following systems in place to support this to ensure that the safety of all children is paramount: Keeping Children Safe at St Marys

As a school we teach the children about how to stay safe through our taught PSHE Curriculum New PSHE RSE programme of study 1-6 and through a programme of assemblies taught across the year.

All consultants and contractors who visit and work at the school are expected to adhere to the schools code of conduct (Code of conduct for consultants & contractors).
