On Tuesday this week, St. Mary’s had a visitor from the Royal Institute who did a workshop for Years 3-6. The workshop was called Explosive Foods and was about the incredible amount of energy contained in foods and how food is broken down in our bodies and digested! The show was packed with exciting chemistry and physics demonstrations including taste tests and literally burning food to see how much energy they consist of. The children were astonished with the sites and found the “poo” rather amusing!
